MaPS is an amazing organisation with much power to do good – it helps millions of people understand their money and pensions better and so live financially healthier and more secure lives.

The whole MaPS team is optimistic and ambitious about what we will be able to achieve.

We will work closely with our stakeholders in Government, starting with DWP, and with our many partners, including charities, commercial businesses and public sector organisations to create a system that provides clarity to those who most need help in an often confusing financial landscape.

Our values – connecting, caring and transforming – inform everything we do. Through our partnerships, we can reach many more people to connect them with the help they need and to make sure we avoid duplicating services. MaPS will care about our customers and help them find the best way to make sense of their finances, from pocket money to pensions. And MaPS will help more people access free and impartial debt advice and pensions guidance, transforming lives.

But we must be constantly looking for ways to improve how we develop, deliver and commission all of our services. I want us to get closer to our customers and service users, and embed a structure that both grows our existing talent and taps into experience and skills from outside MaPS.

I became chair at the end of March 2023 for a five-year term and am looking for senior leaders who will enthuse our people, engage our partners and contribute to a society in which everyone makes the most of their money and pensions so they can have a financially healthier and more secure future.

The move to our new headquarters in Bedford, in January 2024, represents a fantastic opportunity for a strong team of leaders to take us forward into the next stage of MaPS journey.
