Here at the Money and Pensions Service (MaPS), we believe a financially healthy nation is good for individuals, communities, businesses and the economy. As the largest single funder of free debt advice in England we helped almost 1.26 million people with debt advice, money guidance and pension guidance in the 2019/20 financial year. We’re looking for people who have the right skills, knowledge and behaviours for the job, but equally as important is a strong commitment to our objectives, values and vision.

As our Head of Debt Operations, your role will be to ensure that as many consumers as possible receive high quality debt advice. You will do this by working with existing and new service providers to commission a range of services and solutions to ensure customers can receive the support they need, where and when it is required.  To do this, you will have, or quickly develop, a deep understanding of the debt advice landscape.  You will build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring that all work commissioned by MaPS achieves value for money, impact, and identifying new opportunities for MaPS to make a difference.

An experienced, consumer focused leader with substantial knowledge of the debt advice sector, you will bring a proven understanding of how to deliver effective debt advice to consumers. You will be comfortable engaging with stakeholders at all levels including the most senior, and a track record of driving effective delivery though these relationships. Technology and innovation will be evident in the work you have led, using both to bring about improvements in performance for consumer benefit. You will bring not just capability, but a clear sense of a strong value set in line with an organisation that champions inclusion, diversity, collaboration and successful delivery.
